KEVIN LINCOLN
Painting
26 April - 18 May
Kevin Lincoln has long been one of my favourite artists, not just here in Australia, anywhere. He is a master of his craft.
Whether it be the self-portraits, the windows in Amsterdam or the still lifes reflecting his love for Japanese ceramics, they all give this melancholy feeling that life has not always been easy.
There is a softness, a quietness, an admiration of beauty in simple things.
I have lived with Lincoln’s paintings for many years and often sit and take in the stillness, the tranquillity.
Collector or not, just come and look at his ten still lifes of Japanese ceramics. You will leave more at ease than when you entered.
A modest man, Kevin Lincoln is always immaculately dressed. In tones of black and grey, fifty years ago he could have been James Bond. The pay would have been better, but the world would have lost a magical artist, just look.
